Dunia Baru

165′ Wooden Motor Sailor
Dunia Baru: Building a luxury super yacht in a jungle in Borneo presents very special challenges. The Dunia Baru (means “New World”) will be a 165 ft. wooden motor sailor in the traditional Indonesian KLM/Phinisi style. The website below provides the history of this popular Asian design. According to Mark Robba, the director of this complex project, “The system design, engineering and installation had to be done extremely well to insure it would be both trouble-free and maintainable in a third world country. Not only does NorEast have the expertise to do this, they have the flexibility and willingness to work with our ever-changing schedule and handle the difficulties of working in a remote area of the world.”

“When she’s completed, the Dunia Baru will service the high-end charter market in SE Asia, kind of like a 6 star floating hotel,” said Mr. Robba. “That’s why having the highest quality workmanship and systems reliability is so critical. To date, NorEast Marine systems has exceeded our expectations.”

NorEast is responsible for all system design including:

  • Overseeing Project
  • Specifications
  • Water maker
  • Domestic water system
  • Plumbing for entire ship
  • Refrigeration
  • Chilled water air conditioning
  • Engine and generator
  • Navigation package
  • Electrical systems
  • Full set of electrical system CAD drawings
  • Hydraulics
